Synopsis
The movie Aggedu Nayaga ( roughlytranslated to mean mother tongue) conversesabout how the refusal to include the nativelanguage as the medium of instruction in schoolswithin the conformist education system,alienates the Tribal students within theirclassrooms, thereby causing linguistic as well ascultural conflicts in transactions/interactions fortheir teachers.Aggedu Nayaga is a visual medley whoseunaffected narrative speaks of the experiences ofVelly, an innocent tribal boy; the vivid life of theprimitive tribes of Irula, Muduja and theKurumba; as well as the organic wilderness oftheir seed land, Attappadi.
