Houra





Synopsis

A teenager named Hadi lives in a small garden with his family in the surroundings of the desert. The garden is drying up as its water way has been destroyed by the railway expansion project. Hadi attempts to preserve the only memory his mother has left behind. He hopes that his younger sister, Houra, who has become ill and refuses to talk after their mother’s death, will recover soon.

Director Biography

Born in 1971 in the city of Ghazvin, Gholmreza Sagharchiyan, started his artistic career in 1983 by writing a number of poems and plays as well as by performing in several theatrical plays, short and medium-length films. Due to his passion for acting, he studied theater, painting and script writing. Over the years, he has made a number of short and medium-length films as well as over 40 educational documentary films. He has been able to participate in several local film festivals, such as Kish International Documentary Film Festival, Roshd, Children and Young Adults… and he has earned a number of awards in some of the aforementioned festivals.
